Visiting any church, especially a new one, for the very first time can be a tough experience. Where to go? What to wear? What time to show up? What's here for my kids? What can I expect? These and many more questions surface. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Calvary will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and "at home" with us! Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.  We hope you will find Calvary Baptist Church to be “Midland’s Friendliest Church!”.

Finding Us...

We are easily located on the corner of Perrine and Wackerly Roads in Midland, MI.  You can use the directions link at the bottom of the page to see a map and print directions from you location.  When you arrive you can park in either the Wackerly or Perrine parking lot and look for the visitor parking spots that have been reserved just for you.  You can enter at any door and someone will greet you and help you find your way from there!

Where do I go?

When you come into the sanctuary, someone will greet you and hand you a bulletin, which lists our basic order of service, and has weekly announcements and prayer requests.  You may sit wherever you like, and hopefully it won't be long before someone else greets you and introduces themselves.  You will not be singled out as a visitor, but allowed to observe and participate as you desire.  If you would, fill out the registration form in the bulletin, and put that in the offering plates at the end of the service.  It helps with our future planning - and we don't share your information with anyone.

What about our Children?

Sunday school begins at 9:00am and starting with an excellent nursery, there is something special for every age child from birth through high school! For the 10:15 Sunday morning worship service there is safe, clean, and highly staffed nursery and childcare for those 5 years of age and younger. For the infants, mothers will receive a pager so that the nursery attendants can easily contact you if there is a need. For children three years old through third grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.

What Are the Services Like?

Sunday mornings, you can participate in encouraging and uplifting music, as well as enjoy inspiring music from soloists and special groups. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message.  Each service is between 60 and 90 minute in length.

We also have a Sunday evening service (completely different from Sunday morning) that begins at 6:00 p.m. This service is varied.  It often includes singing, special music, preaching, missionary reports, drama, etc. We also meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. for a mid-week Bible study. If you can't be our guest on Sunday morning, we hope you'll visit with us during another service time.

How Should I Dress?

There is not a dress code at Calvary for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Calvary! We would encourage you to come dressed to worship the Lord.

Am I Expected to Participate in the Offering?

No!!! We don't invite you to Calvary Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.  If you would, fill out the registration form in the bulletin, and put that in the offering plates at the end of the service.  It helps with our future planning - and we don't share your information with anyone.

You Missed a Question!

If there's something we missed on this list, just give us email us, give us a call or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you're new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it's been a long time since you've attended church at all, we hope your first visit at Calvary will be awesome! We exist to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. Let us know how we can serve you better.

We hope to meet you this Sunday!
