Sunday School

An indispensable part of our church is what we call the Sunday School. This integral part of our worship, to some, is just an eye opener, an intermission number perhaps. Sad to say, it is not! On the contrary, we our doing God and our selves a great disservice if we often skip this ministry, and come late just to attend the worship service at 10:15 am. God delights to see that we honor Him devotedly and COMPLETELY on His day, and we should see to it that we do so.

From the word itself, Sunday School  is actually a school, in the sense that there are teachers who lead the classes and students are categorized according to their age or class levels. The Sunday School lessons are valuable learning tools to inculcate precious truths at a learner-friendly level where they can be more effectively taught, than when mixed-age attendees are lumped together in one big class. Thus, the teacher can personalize and bring down the level of discussions within the intellectual and emotional needs of his students. This largely facilitates more meaningful and fruitful discussions, and creates a more conducive atmosphere for learning and teacher-student rapport.

Most importantly, class members are edified, taught how to live godly and conduct themselves in a manner that is pleasing to God. Truly Sunday school is not just another church activity that we can afford to neglect.

The Book of John

To many people Christ is merely a historical fact, rather than a living, personal reality. We know that Christ lived, and we know much about what He did; however, even we as Christians seldom experience His presence as we should.

The purpose of our study of John is to make Jesus Christ real as you journey through this study of John’s life and letters we will not only know Jesus more, but also learn to love Him more.

Marriage Builders (Young Marrieds) | Rich Poupard

In this class for couples married 6 years or less we will be guided and challenged to grow personally and relationally with our spouses along with the help and support of our peers through practical Biblical instruction and fellowship.

LifeBuilders (20s-40s) | Pastor David Warren

Countering Culture

Countering Culture equips Christians to take a reasoned stand for biblical principles in the society in which they live. By understanding non-biblical worldviews, Christians gain a deeper appreciation of how to draw non-believers to want to know more about what Christ offers. This 2nd installment of our worldviews series focuses on the ideas of Secular Humanism, Neo-Marxism, and New Age. Participants in this study will discover how biblical Christianity shines bright as the only solution to the troubling trends seen in our culture. This study will help prepare you to present a biblical worldview for everyday living.

Co-Laborers (30s-50s) | Tom Wheeler

Genesis

Over the past several months we have already covered Creation through the Flood, the Tower of Babel and the Dispersion followed by the in-depth study of the lives of the Patriarchs; Abraham, Isaac & Jacob.  We will be finishing our study in Genesis and looking primarily at the life of Joseph.  Join us to discuss & learn how these historical events illustrate truths for application in modern Christian living.

Joint Heirs (40s-60s) | Pastor Mike Reece

Divine Joy from Philippians

People today are consumed by a passionate pursuit of happiness.  Many self-help books and motivational speakers claim to offer the key to happiness. However, the circumstances of life often rob them of their relentless pursuit.  Biblical joy, the settled conviction that God sovereignly controls the events of life for believers good and His glory, is available to all who obey him.  Divine joy is the theme of our study.  We will see from God's word how to achieve really joy in our Christian life.

Pathfinders (Cross-Age) | Dave DeLeeuw

Phillipians

This Fall we will be studying the book of Philippians. Paul started the church in Philippi on his 2nd missionary journey and Dr. Luke stayed as it’s pastor for several years. This was the first church recorded in Europe and they were exemplary in the way they grew and supported Paul. In this joyful letter from Paul back to the church many encouraging truths are recorded. Our goal in studying this text is to extract facts that will give us a deeper understanding of God and  principles that we can apply to be more Christ-like in our lives.

Responding to God's Faithful Intervention, Part 1 (Hosea – Micah)

This study on the Minor Prophets helps learners understand God's faithfulness to His people Israel as seen in His intervention in their lives. God never stopped loving them no matter how far His people wandered from Him. His love for us is just as deep. Learners will be challenged to respond to God's loving faithfulness in their lives.

The Practice of Godliness

Godliness has value for all things, says 1 Timothy 4:8. Godliness is more than a character trait. It is a foundational spiritual quality for the Christian life. As well, we are to pursue godliness with a relentless effort. We will study in the Scriptures the foundation of godliness and the important character traits of the godly person.
